Strategic Direction

The most important aspect of MIA's role is the fact that it is the guardian of the credibility of the accountancy profession in Malaysia. In doing this, MIA has to lead the profession to ensure that it conforms to the role that is expected accountants and that public interest is always upheld.

The strategic approach to MIA's function in maintaining the credibility of the profession is three-pronged, namely via education & development, the promotion of adherence to professional standards and practices and finally, surveillance and enforcement.

In carrying out this role, MIA will continue to implement initiatives that are in line with these approaches.

The Institute continues to be guided by the Strategic Blueprint which has helped MIA ensure that the Institute remains focused on its vision & mission, and cater to the needs of various stakeholders.

To develop, support and monitor quality and expertise consistent with global best practice in the accountancy profession for the interest of stakeholders.
